Preparing Under Blue Skies
What Gary, Indiana taught us about readiness, and why the church cannot wait for the storm.

When the lights went out in Gary, Indiana, and stayed out, families learned in real time what so many of us only talk about. Readiness is not a feeling. It is a plan, a list, a phone tree, a pantry, and a people who know who is checking on whom.
CHURCH FORWARD: Real Conversations began with a prompting I could not shake: that the Lord was urging us to help people prepare for what might lie ahead. Gary became our case study on Night One, and it brought the need into sharp focus.
Noah built before it rained
Scripture is full of people who prepared under blue skies. Noah grew and built. Joseph stored and managed. Moses used what was already in his hand. None of them waited for the crisis to begin before they acted.
Readiness is a ministry. The time to build the ark is while the sun is still shining.
That is why the conversations do not end with the broadcast. Every night becomes a report, an assessment, and an action plan that a church, a ministry, or a household can download and actually use.
Start where you are. Watch a conversation. Take the assessment. Then gather your household and your team, and decide together what you will do next.
